Chalking Anthony Edwards at the Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival

I had an absolute blast chalking a larger-than-life portrait of Anthony Edwards, aka ANT-man of the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Downtown Minneapolis Street Art Festival! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the festival drew such an amazing and diverse crowd. It was truly a special experience, and can’t get over how downtown Minneapolis feels like such a small and tight-knit community every time I do this event.

The Location

The piece was located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis on Nicollet Mall, where festival-goers could stop by, engage with the artwork, and enjoy the atmosphere. It was awesome to see so many people come together for this community event.

This portrait of Anthony Edwards, the first Timberwolves and basketball player I’ve chalked, felt especially meaningful. Edwards has been such a standout both for the Timberwolves and as part of the USA Men’s Basketball team that won gold this same weekend of the event.

Special Thanks

A big shoutout to Christian, the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District, and all the incredible volunteers and staff who helped make this festival such a success. I’m always so inspired by how this event brings people together through the power of art.

If anyone knows the original photographer of the reference image I used for this portrait, please reach out! I’d love to give proper credit.
