Drawing Bugs Bunny in a 3D Hole

For my son's birthday chalk art this year, he originally asked me to draw Ryan Jeffers from the Minnesota Twins, but with all the rain we’ve been getting lately, I didn’t have five hours to spare. So, I asked him to pick a cartoon character instead, and we landed on Bugs Bunny from the Space Jam movie (the newer version with LeBron James).

The design shows Bugs Bunny popping out of a hole in the ground on our driveway—a fun and playful nod to the movie and perfect for some birthday art. Since it was raining just before his birthday, I decided to paint this on some leftover vinyl I had instead of using chalk, making it easier to work through the rainy conditions.

Even though it wasn’t the original plan, my kiddo loved it—and that’s what matters most. Sometimes, when chalk art and weather don’t mix, you’ve got to get creative to find another way!
