Four Years in the Making, News from my Chalktoberfest Application

I can hardly believe it, I’m still processing everything. All I keep thinking about is that overwhelmed mama, just trying to keep her kids entertained while juggling full-time work back in 2020. It was a time when the world was shut down, isolating, and uncertain. But in the midst of all that, I found something I absolutely love: chalk art.

What started as a way to bring a little color and positivity into my life and my neighborhood has turned into an incredible journey. And now, I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve been accepted as an artist to participate in Chalktoberfest’s Chalk and Beer Festival in Marietta, GA! This is one of the world’s premier chalk festivals and am so grateful to have been accepted.

A huge thank you to the Festival Director, Sally Macaulay and the juried committee for selecting me and giving me this incredible opportunity—I can’t wait to meet you all! To my family, friends, and neighbors, who were my first supporters and cheerleaders, thank you for believing in me when this was just the beginning. And to all of you who I’ve met along the way, whether through my art or online, your support has meant the world.

We’re going to Marietta! I’m so grateful for the chance to share my art and connect with even more people on this journey.

Here's a video I captured of my reaction shortly after I found out:
