I recently completed this pair of custom shoes which were special to me as they were one of my first commissioned pair of sneakers and were for a close friend heading to the Masters tournament. These AF1s, inspired by the iconic green and yellow of the Masters, were also my first time customizing a pair of Nike Air Force 1s, and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out.
I’ve really enjoyed exploring more in the custom sneaker space, especially in the chalk art off-season here in Minnesota. I had a lot of fun working on these, which is likely because it brings together both art, sports, and sportswear. It’s even more rewarding when you know the shoes are going to someone who will appreciate them.
These Masters AF1 customs were a hit on social media as well. I received a ton of positive feedback from people online and through my friend from people who saw them at the tournament. Watch one of the videos I created here on my YouTube channel. That’s been so encouraging as I tap into this new medium. I’m already working on the next pair in my queue, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next.
As chalk art season starts to ramp up, it's exciting to balance both mediums. Whether it's sidewalk chalk or custom shoes, I've loved finding new ways to explore with my art and share it with you all.
