Spring is here, and while I'm still in the off-season for chalk art, I’ve been channeling my energy into something new—customizing sneakers. Specifically, my first pair of Nike customs! With Spring Training in full swing, I decided to take on my Nike Court Boroughs as a way to practice – these have been a go-to pair of shoes for Twins games. I’d like to eventually customize my AF1s, but didn’t want to risk it on my first attempt.

For my Court Boroughs though, I gave them a fresh new look, adding my own style including a little nod to 3D street art with the TC logo. It's always been fun finding ways to bring elements of street art into new mediums, and this project was no different.
Though this was just a practice run to see how I liked this style of painting and how they turned out, I have to say, I’ll be wearing these for a while. I’ve been breaking them in all week at Twins Spring Training in Fort Myers, FL, and despite the miles I’ve clocked in them, they’ve held up pretty well.

That said, there’s always room to improve. With this first attempt under my belt, I’ve already started working on my next pair and am excited to test out some new techniques. If you’d like your own pair of custom sneakers, reach out! Or if you’re thinking about customizing shoes yourself, stay tuned for more updates—I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned along the way!
